JSS3 Second Term Islamic Religious Studies Odyssey
Week 1: Prophets in Islam
Embark on the second term by exploring various prophets in Islam. Lessons will delve into their lives, messages, and contributions to Islamic teachings. Activities include group discussions, research projects on selected prophets, and oral presentations.
Week 2: Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh)
Week 2 introduces students to Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), focusing on basic principles and practices. Practical scenarios, case studies, and a mock legal debate will deepen students’ understanding of Fiqh.
Week 3: Islamic Art and Calligraphy
Appreciate the beauty of Islamic art and calligraphy during the third week. Students will engage in art workshops, create their calligraphy pieces, and explore the historical significance of Islamic art forms.
Week 4: Women in Islam
Week 4 will highlight the role and status of women in Islam. Lessons will cover Islamic perspectives on women’s rights, responsibilities, and contributions. A panel discussion, research projects, and a reflective essay assignment will enrich students’ perspectives.
Week 5: Islamic Finance and Economics
Explore the principles of Islamic finance and economics in the fifth week. Lessons will cover concepts such as Sharia-compliant banking, Zakat, and ethical business practices. Students will participate in a business simulation game and a financial literacy project.
Week 6: Sufism and Islamic Mysticism
Delve into the spiritual realm of Sufism and Islamic mysticism during the sixth week. Lessons will cover Sufi practices, poetry, and their contribution to Islamic spirituality. Students will engage in Sufi poetry recitation and create artistic expressions inspired by Sufism.
Week 7: Environmental Stewardship in Islam

Week 8: Interfaith Dialogue

Similar to the first term, Week 11 serves as a revision week, consolidating knowledge through review sessions, practice exams, and group discussions.

Week 12 marks the examination week for the second term, evaluating students’ understanding through written exams, oral assessments, and practical demonstrations.
Week 13: School Dismissal Week
Conclude the second term with a recap of achievements, recognition of outstanding efforts, and a farewell ceremony as students prepare for a well-deserved break.
